She's Got Whatever It Is...

Hello and Happy Mother's Day! Any moms out there? My mom is quite the avid follower... she thinks we're cute :) Love you mommy! Thanks for your fashion advice! :)
ah...she's great. :)

I know you have seen this outfit before...(maybe? swing dancing? :) )BUT! You haven't seen these SHOES! Check them out. Black, t-strap, kitten heels, Naturalizer brand from....GOODWILL!!! 6 bucks. yes please. :) Cambria found them first, saw they were an 8 1/2 and passed them over to me...good friend that she is :) I could probably sleep in these babies...but, that would be weird and I should probably stick to dancing in them. Anyways, they're pretty great...Also, this outfit...I like it. :) The skirt is just PERFECT for dancing (from Marshalls like 5 years ago...). When I spin in it people have to move out of the way...it's fun. :)

Other than that exciting news...I made Gazpacho with my 15 year old brother, today. He gets 20 extra credit points in Spanish class for making it...and let me tell you. It tastes great. :)
Maybe I'll post a picture of him at a later date...He's a stud. My friend Ellie took our pictures for us to make a photobook from Shutterfly for Mother's Day. She loved it...tears were shed and she is out walking around the neighborhood showing all the other moms how good looking her kids are...sigh.
If you haven't checked out Shutterfly before, you should. It's like...glorified scrapbooking. It's great :)

Okay...now, I really need to do homework. story of my life. ugh

Love you!
Jess

PS: It was so windy when these pictures were taken! I love the two pictures of Cambria...wind+skirts=always a dangerous time... :)
also kileen thinks the first picture is oddly proportioned. It's sort of true...she says my legs are like "sky-scraper legs"
i'm not sure how i feel about that.

In other words, I love you...

Nothing really new to report...it's the last weekend before school is out and we are all spending it doing homework and attempting to pack up. Pretty wild, right? I know you were shocked by that statement!
Despite the overwhelming cloud of finals, homework, and moving out we were able to spend some time with delightful friends last night. We played a roaring game of Spoons and watched Cinderella Man... Russell Crowe. Need I say more? It was good fun, although I must admit, walking to our car in the RAIN AND SNOW (yes, I said snow...) was rather disgusting and I would like it if I didn't have to do that again until December. Thank you very kindly.

Okay, back to homework.
Love,
Jess

Roister Doister 2010

Last night was our lovely Roister Doister theatre gala...Jessica and I had suuuuch fun!!! In fact, Jessica and her acting partner from Neil Simon's "Fools" won the Romeo and Juliet award :) Drayton (the boyfriend) and I got to present awards and hammed it up onstage...The inside jokes throughout the ceremony were delightful! Not to mention our RAD 80s style. Note the matching briliant royal blue and overabundance of gaudy ruffles, sequins, and shoulder pads. Delightful, n'est ce pas?! Personally, I think mine looks like someone styled their prom dress after Swan Lake (I'll let Jess comment on hers!). Anywho, heading to bed before a LONG weekend of studying for finals...night <3

Fill My Heart With Song

Well, last night was the big shin dig! We had a simply wonderful time and I can't wait to post pictures from it! Alas, I left my memory card at home and was unable to take any of my own pictures... shucks. :(

In other news, the weather has been dreadful the last couple days and SNOW (that awful 4-letter word...) is in the forecast for this evening. SNOW. sigh... makes me feel a little ill to be perfectly frank. Also, it makes me want to wear sweatpants and cuddle with a blanket and a cup of earl gray all day... alas, I must be productive and get work done.

You're all beautiful people. Beautiful! And you must leave me now...or I'll cry! Go!

All my love,
jess

It's that time of year...

Please accept our deepest apologies. The end of the year has swallowed us whole and we have been unable to post. Don't fret! We have still been wearing cute outfits...we have just neglected to take pictures of such.
However, the time has come for the annual theater banquet, The Roister Doisters! The pictures above are from last year... The theme is always "Fractured Formal Wear" and it's basically like a "mock Academy Awards." Everyone dresses real sharp and we all go on a river boat down on the river. They feed us, give out awards and we dance the night away.
Cambria and I can hardly wait to reveal this years attire, as it promises to outdo last years...believe it or not. I'll give you a hint about mine... Shoulder. Pads. :)
It's going to be great.
Pictures to come soon!! :)
Much love,
Jess

La Vie en Rose

Has anyone seen the movie Sabrina, starring Audrey Hepburn? It's one of my favorites. There is a scene where she wrote her father from Paris and he is reading what she wrote him. She tells him that someone across the street is playing the song "La Vie en Rose" which, according to her, is the French way of saying, seeing things through rose-colored glasses.
mmm I love that movie. Anyways, I just listened to that song sung by none other than Ella and Louis ;)
it's beautiful, you ought to listen to it now.

The dress I'm wearing in those pictures was a gift from my darling neighbor, Elsie. The other morning, I heard a knock at the door, and it was Elsie holding this dress. She goes, "Hey! I never wear this dress, take it!" and then proceeds to turn around and walk back into her room before I could even bat an eyelash... It's a sweet little sundress that is so comfy and is so easy to wear that I simply cannot for the life of me figure out why she gave it away! Oh well, she won't take it back, and I'm gonna give her a couple skirts from the back of my closet (darling skirts that I just never wear! My mother should be so proud...) so I suppose it will be a fair trade.

Cambria's dress is mildly unique too! Her dress is a maternity dress from the thrift store! Do not be alarmed! She is nowhere near that chapter of her life (although, when she is she will be ready since she owns 2 maternity dresses already... Room to grow!! ;) ) Anyways, eager to try the "floral grunge" look that is back by popular demand this spring, she found this little number and paired it with a belt, and it has quickly become a favorite in her wardrobe. I'd love to borrow it sometime, alas...it would be QUITE short on me. woe is me

Speaking of my woes... Any tall girls out there frustrated with the fashion industry currently? All those darling dresses out there, and we simply cannot wear them! Just about every cute dress from Modcloth, Shopruche, Target(!), Forever 21 comes up, about 6 inches above my knee! And I like a shorter dress as much as the next tall girl, but these are just way too indecent. How is one supposed to sit down?!
What's a tall girl to do? :(
Anyone know of any sites that have cute "longer" dresses? By longer, I mean, that hit my knee? I'm just shy of 5' 9" which isn't THAT tall... well, okay, it's tall... but still! I want to wear cute dresses!
Shucks...

anyways!
that was quite the rant... my apologies!
Hope your Sunday is wonderful! I'm off to get ready for a photoshoot with Cambria's lovely cousin! She's making a "Lookbook" for her photography final! Should be a blast!! :)

Love, Jess!
