2 of 30: Covered in Car Oil

Sorry for the craziness of my hair in these pictures...not gonna lie, I was tempted to skip posting today because I look GHASTLY :P I got out of the car and Fiance Drayton Wesley took these pics in the 3 mins we had before our church tour appointment (oh wedding planning). But hey, we all have those moments, right?

On a positive note, after the running around of the day, it was LOVELY to tour the church. Pretty little chapel that's just the right size...and great pricing :) Only downside was the DREADFUL bright robin's egg blue walls in the room they use for receptions. Oh dear. Oh dear. But beggars can't be choosers of cream walls and dark woodwork, can they?


Then of course there was the moment of the night where Drayton's car wouldn't start...and we checked the oil with his cell phone light in the dark...and walked to a gas station to buy a refill...and then filled the car with oil in the dark...I am quite the little grease monkey now!!! And that's literal!!!

So I decided to start off my 30 for 30 with an outfit combination that I wouldn't normally put together...that way the "different" ones won't all end up at the end!

BLOOPER. Fiance decided to take a picture of me to make me look silly :P

I think I'm really going to like this challenge...I can see where I might get a little tired of wearing the same shirts and sweaters over and over...but it's giving me a burst of new creativity and feels refreshing to have my closet cleaned up :)

Five SKIRTS: striped vintage skirt, blue H&M circle skirt, black maxi skirt, persian-print vintage skirt, khaki H&M pocket skirt.

Six DRESSES: rose H&M empire dress, burgundy F21 empire dress, grey F21 jumper, black Old Navy shift dress, blue H&M shirt dress, floral vintage jumper.

Seven SHIRTS: Walmart chambray button-down, floral black H&M button-down, Old Navy solids in dusty brown/brown/black, F21 gray striped tee, H&M floral ruched-sleeve tee.

Two PANTS: dark skinnies from H&M, gray wool houndstooth high-waisted shorts from F21.

Five SWEATERS: brown boyfriend cardigan from Target, grey boyfriend sweater from H&M, charcoal American Eagle cardigan, navy F21 cable-knit cardigan, oatmeal Wet Seal cardigan.

30 for 30!!!

Well this is my last post before I start the "30 for 30" challenge with KendiEveryday ...Ironically, I think some of these pieces will appear in my challenge wardrobe (which I'll be posting later today), but that's okay :)

In other news, I'm taking the fiancee (still love saying that) on a special date tonight, so I'm thrilled to see him all dressed up. I'm sure you all will get to see those pics sometime soon too...

And Now to Your Scheduled Programming

Sigh. Yes, tis the Epic Fail Blogger again...the one who has only managed two posts in as many weeks almost, and one of them about wedding gowns :)

But I am still alive, and I do think about things ASIDE FROM my wedding...sometimes! For example, last week I thought a lot about the ancient kings of Hattusas, Mitanni, and Assyria as I prepared for my exams. And I thought about red pens and how much I like writing with them because I was grading tests. And I thought about missing Jessica since she doesn't live with me right now :(

Today, I thought about voting and Butterfinger ice cream. What about you?

So, there's a small peek into life with Cambria and Jessica over the past three years...that's what I call a good time!

Also, this is me "not forgetting about the blogggg." I know I haven't been as good as C about posting...but, just you wait! Next semester is going to be...great.
