Zut Alors!

Gracious heavens above, it's been some time since I've posted...nearly a week, to be precise! And what a week. Please do rest assured I haven't neglected to wear clothing or think about all of you delightful readers...I've just had a doosie of a week, to put it mildly. Without going into detail, I had HUGE and traumatic family issues come up right over my birthday that I'm still dealing with. Just didn't have the time for pics and posts, or to be perfectly, the heart to do them.

BUT I definitely did wear some cute clothes this week, because when I'm overwrought and overwhelmed, dressing up makes me feel better :) So I'll have to snap some quick shots of my outfits from the past few days and post them this coming week (or hoard them for lazy days later).

What do you do to bring cheer to a sad day?

Oh, Hello Hurricane...

Life as of late has sure felt like a hurricane, in more ways than one.

1. It has been raining nonstop for the past three days. Perhaps Seattle and St. Paul switched climates without notifying the rest of us? Lucky for me, I adore the rain and happen to find it quite romantical (just ask Cambria ;) ). The one downside to the rain, is planning a waterproof wardrobe...which would come in handy when one is teaching a swing dance lesson in the rain...

2. My life has been soooo busy!! I can't even believe it! Between working close to 40 hours a week, 2 night classes, volunteering, and making time to see my family and the roommates, there just isn't enough hours in the day! This also plays true about finding time for outfit pictures...Sorry guys! My little brother (actually not so little, he'll be 16 soon!) took these and...they kinda stink! But, you gotta work with what you have, right? So, roll with it. :)

So, Cambria posted some pictures of her and Drayton, and not wanting to be outdone, of course... I thought I would post a picture of my beau and me :) He's that dashingly, tall and handsome shadow standing next to mine...
Also, he just started checking out the blog (Hiya, sweetie! :) )! He lives an hour and a half away, so we have fun writing letter and seeing each other on the weekends, which I get to do this weekend!

How about that skirt? Well, I got it at Gap this past week on the "Final Sale" rack...and it's delightful, I love the color and the fabric is silky soft...annnd it has pockets. I got an additional 15%off because it was missing the belt...which is just fine with me! :)
And, I know you have seen these boots several times now...what can I say? This girl loves her boots. :)

In other news, I really need to stop purchasing skirts...right?

Until next time,
Much love,
Jess

BIRTHDAY

Yes, I am now officially 21 :) :) :)

Really, I don't feel any differently. Since my school has a no drinking policy (and I'm not that interested anyways), I won't be doing anything differently! But it's fun to know I'm 21, all the same...and to know that I've come another year further. Stopping to think through the past year makes me realize all the more JUST how much I've experienced and overcome in the past 365 days, praise the Lord!!!

My roommates and Boyfriend have been wonderful today :) Kileen brought me a hazelnut soy latte and banana bread for a surprise breakfast, plus a BEAUTIFUL gold bow ring (so me!!!). Drayton (Boyfriend, haha) gave me a GORGEOUS red military-style coat and matching scarf...and the sweetest card <3 I've gotten the sweetest birthday wishes from everyone, which is really the best part--it just makes me feel so loved and delighted to be a part of all of their lives!!!

New pics tomorrow, I promise...but for now, here's the rest of the ones from my Adventure Day yesterday!!!

Almost 100!!!

Weeeeeeelll!!! Today I feel like making a list of happinesses :) So here goes:

1--Tomorrow will be our 100th post on the blog *celebratory moment*
2--I will simultaneously be turning 21 tomorrow *shriek of delight*
3--I just finished studying all my Ancient Near Eastern kings *delight* and decided to name my first daughter "Tukinkhattamigrisha"
4--It is cold and sunny today with a great autumn breeze and smells SWELL outside <3
5--Jessica stayed over last night and we had a lovely coffee talk today!!!

Also, today was lovely because YESTERDAY was lovely...I spent the afternoon on an Adventure Day with the Boyfriend. We went downtown to the old mill ruins along the river, walked across the stonearch bridge, toured the Guthrie Theatre (amazing architecture/art even if you're not seeing a show), and took fun pictures :) We only get to have Adventure Days every couple months, what with school and family and everything that takes up your life :P So it was quite, quite stupendous <3

What was the best moment or experience of your day?
