Every (other) Day.

Lately my blog posting has decreased to just about once every other day. Honestly, one day I just plumb FORGOT to post! What a terrible blogger I am *scandalized*

I think today's pictures make up for missing a day though...I just really loved this outfit (simple as it is) and the lighting turned out great! I was chasing squirrels with my Boyfriend (don't ask) and the sun caught on the pine needles dried on the ground. It was so lovely! So I stopped and asked for a blog picture on the spot :)

By the way...it was Boyfriend's birthday yesterday...he's officially 21 now too!!!!!!! I made him a bracelet that had special meaning and wrote out a pretty calligraphy explanation. I was a little nervous he wouldn't like it, but my fears were unfounded--he absolutely loved it :) I'm sure the super chic cardigan I gave him helped too ;D

Difficulties :)

Well as you can see, I'm having difficulties being photogenic this week! Good gracious fishes and loaves of bread...I'll have to work on that :)

Also, I'm having difficulty finishing all my homework! Next week I have so many tests and reading completions and et cetera...yet I'm baking cookies and writing poetry tonight :D Here's my latest:

Tonight our reality has the flatness
of a black and white photograph.

Curling in the corner of the couch,
the lavender of Earl Grey tea,
a pair of drab cushions,
the Channel from Britain to France
in a frame above the TV,
just wreckage and seafoam,
your body bridging over the waves of mine
breathing.

Your eyes drifting to the TV screen,
2, 4, 23,
11, 9, 45,
clicking empty channels,
crackling black and white snow,
no reception tonight—

but I know and
you know,
Fawlty Towers,
Julia Child,
BBC News for America,
that somewhere, the show
still broadcasts in full colour:

and the coffee still
percolates on the kitchen counter,
leftover pot roast,
hard bullet peas,
I scalded the gravy,
and by the pot, my crumpled dishcloth,
spent, wet, resting,
left curled in the bottom of your cup—

which we have held,
in which we have heard
the empty echo
of a seashell.
Hollow as the exhale
of traffic in a tunnel,

a droning TV, under
the photograph of the Channel,
black and white waves like static,

There is no bridge,
but it can be traversed by tunnel.

I'm Hungry

Blooper Photo!!!

Real Photos :)

I'm currently contemplating what cheap, quick college meal to make for dinner tonight. Frozen pot-stickers with a side of broccoli? Chicken noodle soup? Bagels and cream cheese with applesauce? Instant oatmeal and scrambled eggs? Nothing sounds good when you have a cold (except I'm weirdly craving Pad Thai).

Sunday today...Sundays always make me slow down and concentrate on my life. Do they do that to you? Sometimes it's good because I'm relaxed and calmed and productive--have time to reflect on the beautifies of existence and the faithfulness of God's love. But sometimes it's actually a downer of a day because I'm alone and studious and introspective--have time to ponder the fears and anxieties that are plaguing my life. That's the wrong attitude and perspective to have, of course, but it's kinda where I'm at today (that and weirdly craving Pad Thai).

Hmmmmmm. What are you having for dinner?
