C: Well today's outfit isn't what I ACTUALLY wore, but I felt like dressing up and being creative...and it is what I wore to our college's premiere of "Working", the musical by Studs Terkel. I just love dressing up soooo much--I take every chance I get :) This one was easy to throw together and a little more casual with flats and minimal jewelry...perfect for a theatre event. (P.s. Expect another dress-up post within the next couple weeks because I'm going to Guthrie Theatre's Macbeth!)

Bloglovin'

Just a brief additional post today because we're getting our blog up to Bloglovin :) Hoping (against all odds) that we could actually get some new readers!

She's got a ticket to ride...

The truth is, I'm a bit nuts for music...hence the song title lyrics. I realize they are mostly really random and perhaps a tad puzzling, but they usually have some sort of significance. Sometimes, I'm listening to a song and I think about how much I like how that one line sounds, or I think the lyrics are really sweet, or sometimes it describes my mood at the time. I always have some kind of music playing, whether it is coming through my computer (iTunes or Pandora...mmm...), my iPod, or just the random music playing in my head...it's the soundtrack of my life!
I'm always loving some jazz (Ella, Louis, Duke, Frank, Michael are just a few of the staples I adore), but I also have a huge weakness for cheesy musical soundtracks. You also could find a large collection of Relient K, Switchfoot, and Fm static and oh! One of my really favorite groups right now= Needtobreathe. Seriously, go listen to them right now. It's love. Anyways, my point is that I have a wide assortment of music...and I am always on the hunt for new stuff. :)
OK. Clothes. This style outfit is seriously my favorite right now and is my current go-to outfit. You can't really go wrong with jeans, flats, solid-color tee and a cardigan and the beauty of it is that you can switch it up by adding a scarf, sneakers, hat, or necklace! I love it and have been rocking it whenever I can. :)
Signing out,
Jessica

C: Aside from the fact that I just had to say goodbye to my darling Boyfriend, today looks like it's going to be swell! I slept in, I have no homework, I don't have to go to a single class, and I'm anticipating a coffee shop adventure :) Does life get any better? Only if you have books, art, everything classic--and rest assured, I just got a new volume of poetry, another Henry James novel, and a new artsy Audrey Hepburn photo calendar! Ma cherie mere brought me a lovely little gift yesterday that brightened my week...the calendar and a vintage purse covered with pearls. Will post photos soon :)

Today we will wander and enjoy...

Well, one final done!! And while everyone else is celebrating the end of the quad, I am finishing two more finals...thank you Education Department.
The temperature continues to climb, along with my desire to wear spring clothes! However, 40 degrees is still not quite warm enough for darling skirts (no tights!, sandals, light blouses and no coat! Although there is certainly something to be said for the midwesterner this time of year... only here you can find folks wearing shorts, capris, and sweatshirts in 40-50 degree weather! It's like, once they see the snow melting, they feel it's okay to whip out the summer clothes (and freeze!!). It sure is amusing to watch :)
Love,
Jessica

Not feeling like writing much today...I have three finals ahead and a bunch of studying! Fortunately (or blessedly, as I like to say), I love Nazi Germany and Philosophy so at least the subject matter is engaging. And it will feel soooo good to turn in my final copy of my Plato's "Symposium" paper :) I'm quite proud of those results.

Mister Golden Sun

This is a beautiful, gorgeous, lovely day!!! I read poetry in the library while drinking Berryblossom White Tea (tasteful to the mind and tongue). Then I decided to skip class this afternoon and walked home in the sunshine, enjoying the puddles along the way, of course. Now I'm sitting on the sofa in a patch of sunlight with my windows open to the cool breeze, reading a good book. Midterms stress, be gone!

{vintage velour shoes with bows, thrifted Persian-print skirt, black Target ribbed tights, brown Old Navy shirt, cream H&M crinkled scarf, Claire's filigree earrings, tan vintage belt from J's closet}

If the nightingales could sing like you, they'd sing much sweeter than they do...

mmm love me some Mr. Sinatra on sunny afternoons :)
mostly I love anything on sunny afternoons and dare I say that spring has arrived? It has been a long time coming and truth be told...I'm rather tired of wearing tights and my winter pea coat. I'm also sick of my pasty looking skin but that's another story...let's just say that spring and summer will be welcomed with open arms :)
In other news, I'm on a bit of a "plaid kick" currently. This top is one of my purchases from the other day. I still not really sure how I feel about it and how to wear it...although I like it with the skirt. I really love the 40's feel that the skirt has (it's just from Target!) with the ankle socks and the ruffly plaid top...not too bad, eh?
And in other OTHER news, Caribou has discontinued their Green Jasmine Tea and I'm pretty down in the dumps over this. It was so tasty iced! sigh...bad move Caribou...bad move. :(
Anyways,
Jessica signing out.
{Red clip-on earrings from..who knows where?! thrifted plaid blouse, charcoal gray skirt from Target, cream anklets from C, black heels from Goodwill}

C: At the moment (don't tell Jess!) I'm a practicing Benedict Arnold...more clearly stated, I ditched Caribou to study at Dunn Bros. tonight :) They made my new favourite drink, the name of which escapes my mind and thus I call an Austrian Soda. Basically espresso, soda water, and cream with or without a flavour shot. Yummmm, carbonated coffee!
I'm actually taking a study break at the moment, having just come from my night class philosophy final *cheers* I love digging into a good book when I have the spare moment, and this time it's Henry James' The Other House...as well as an issue of Artifax (can't help being a history geek, even in spare time). Excellent choices thus far :)
On another note, I'm really looking forward to the end of this week! The girls and I are going to spend Friday at the Mall of America (as I mentioned before) and I'm hoping to grab some cute, unique, fun summer needs. We shall see.
